I can't believe the police not telling the owners where to look for the dog that THEY lost!
In what possible world does that make any sense at all? It's madness!

Umph. That story seems like it will greatly increase the risk of poor Tootsie being attacked by a dangerous human

At least the news report identifies where she was lost and she is now on Doglost.
But I agree that report is only going to alarm people.
I hope she is found safely aithough that could mean she is locked up again.
