Foster Home Without Children Needed

Recommended Posts

Oldies Club has been asked to help an older German shepherd cross girl thought to be about 10 years old. She is active and playful and enjoys a swim, and is great with other dogs, cats, horses, and adults.

Unfortunately, she is very bad with children under about 14 and her owner now has a 13 month old toddler who is becoming more and more active and harder to keep entirely separate.

Even more unfortunately, she has a stress-related skin condition which flares up in situations such as a kennel environment, so she is unable to return to the kennel-based rescue that she came from, as they feel that given her age, breed and medical history, it would be unkind to bring her back in for what could be a long stay during which it's pretty certain her condition would deteriorate. This dog is now at risk, because she really does have nowhere to go. We've already supplied a list of other rescues to try, but as this dog cannot take a kennel space her options are limited.

She really needs to be in a home with an owner that can provide a calm, consistent childfree environment and plenty of gentle exercise.

Can you help by offering a foster home? If so, please contact us urgently! You will need a homecheck though we may be able to accept a reference from another rescue if you have recently adopted or fostered.

Send me a PM or email us on [email protected] . This girl is in Wales at the mo, but anywhere within a reasonable transport run would do.

Yes, it's fine to crosspost this but if you do, please keep an eye on the thread and update it if we update this one!

We have a possible offer for this girl, just trying to work out details. biggrin.gif

(we do, however, always really struggle to find suitable foster homes for GSD / GSDX so if you are interested in fostering, please do get in touch!)
