Fee
Scrumpy is a young at heart, 10 year old Collie X German Shepherd who is currently in an Oldies Club foster home in Hertfordshire. She came into rescue through no fault of her own. Scrumpy is a perfect canine house-guest; she is obedient, undemanding and only needs to be told something once to understand what is expected of her. She settles well at night and can be left home alone for a few hours. Scrumpy is also a good guard dog and will let you know if there is someone at the door, but she is quiet when she is told. Scrumpy is at a time in her life when she finds small children a bit too much, but she would be quite happy living with older children who understand that she needs her own space at dinner times and when she wants a snooze. She does love fuss though and will wait patiently for some attention. Scrumpy loves her walks and has an endearing habit of collecting sticks for you to throw! She walks very well on and off the lead and understands basic commands; she will ‘come’ and ‘wait’ when told. Scrumpy is a little shy with other dogs, but she will choose to keep her distance rather than risk any confrontation. She would therefore be happiest in a home without other pets. Scrumpy is a very good girl and never begs for food. While you are eating your meal she lies quietly and in fact isn’t interested in treats. She eats mostly dry food. As she is getting on in years she has a few aches and pains and needs exercise to avoid putting on a little middle-aged spread. She can get up quite a speed though when she chases the squirrels, but fortunately not enough to catch one! Scrumpy is spayed, vaccinated, micro-chipped, flea and worm treated and has been given a clean bill of health by the vets. If you are interested in Scrumpy, please refer to our Adoption Procedures for information about the adoption process. You can then contact an Oldies Club rehoming co-ordinator as follows: Email: [email protected] Telephone: 0844 586 8656 Scrumpy can be rehomed anywhere in the UK, subject to a satisfactory home visit, but note that you will be required to travel to the foster home to meet her.
